Built-in Coffee Machines

Integrated coffee machine

Coffee machines are becoming a regularly requested addition to the appliances installed in Australian kitchens. As implied by the name the coffee machine is built into the kitchen cabinetry rather than free standing on the bench top. This both frees up bench space and creates a sleek minimalist look in the kitchen. The front fascia is normally stainless steel and about the same size as a built in microwave. If you love your coffee these machines are a must!

The Facts

Integrated coffee machines are not plumbed directly into the water source so you still need to fill the water reservoir manually and most machines currently available require that you manually froth the milk, where as some bench top varieties will froth the milk for a cappuccino automatically if you fill the milk jug and ‘plug’ it in.

Don’t forget you will also need a power point in the back of the cupboard recess. Prices vary but if you allow between $3000-$4000 + installation you would have a number of choices.

If you want all your integrated appliances (i.e. coffee maker, microwave and steam oven) aligned vertically or horizontally, buy them all from one manufacturer, then you can ensure the dimensions will be identical for that streamlined look.
